Internship position with Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany.
Modelling of glass transition temperature of OLED small molecules.
An internship position in modelling of glass transition temperature of OLED small molecules is open at the departement of Performance Materials OLED. The glass transition temperature Tg is thought to be the most important factor for the thermal stability of low molecular-weight amorphous molecular materials.
The ideal candidate is currently a master student with skills in chemoinformatics and statistical modelling and is interested in the application of these computational techniques to study the properties of organic light emitting device materials. Experience in programming is expected.
The project will involve data validation and model development to advance the understanding of the OLED small molecule properties.
Applicants are encouraged to look at the following publications for more information about the targeted research project:
Chem. Rev. (2010), 110, 5714–5789.
Organic Electronics 11 (2010) 1966–1973.
J. Chem. Inf. Comput. Sci. (2003), 43, 970-977.
J Mol Model (2005) 12, 24–33.
The starting date can be as early as september 1, 2011. To apply, please send a detailed CV, a statement of research interest, and contact information with at least two references to Dr. Mireille Krier (mireille.krier "at" merckgroup.com) and Dr. Elvira Montenegro (elvira.montenegro "at" merckgroup.com).
